Why this matters for self-custody

Walking up to a physical Tangem booth at Best Buy collapses the whole journey into one stop. You see the product. You take it home and set it up.

Getting a hardware wallet used to mean waiting, ordering, and hoping the box arrived before you lost interest. We’ve been working hard to change that, and as of this month, we’ve made our biggest effort yet.

Tangem is now on shelves at 200+ Best Buy locations across the United States. Walk in. Find the stand. That’s right! We have our own dedicated booth at participating Best Buy locations. Expect clear Tangem branding and a real wallet display in the store's tech or mobile accessories section.

Why this matters for self-custody

Self-custody had a proximity problem. The people who need hardware wallets most, people holding real money on exchanges, often put off the move because the process feels like a project.

Every collapse of a centralized exchange in the past five years has been followed by a brief surge of interest in self-custody, followed by a slow drift back to complacency. The drift back is because the path to self-custody had too much friction at the start.

Best Buy will remove the first barrier. The product is physically there, on a shelf, in a store you already know how to get to. You can decide on a Tuesday afternoon and own a hardware wallet by Tuesday evening.

A Wild Tangem Appears #TangemSpotted

Here's where you come in. We want to see Tangem spotted in the wild. If you are near one of the participating locations, we have the full store list, so you can check before you go.

Find a participating location: Locate a Tangem retail display stand at one of the 225 Participating Locations.
Find the Tangem booth and take a photo or video: Photograph or film the Tangem stand. The stand must be clearly visible in the image or video.
Post on Social Media: Share the photo or video on Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), or another eligible social media platform.
The post must:
- include the hashtag #TangemSpotted;
- be publicly visible (not set to private or friends-only);
- remain live and publicly accessible until the winners are announced

What's in it for you?

The prize giveaway will run from 3rd June 2026 to 23rd June 2026. Entries submitted outside this period will not be eligible.

The campaign offers two prize categories.

A Bitcoin prize pool of $5,000 USD ($50 USD in Bitcoin per winner) will be awarded to the first 100 eligible posts that meet all entry requirements on a first-come, first-served basis.
One DJI Osmo Pocket 4 Handheld Camera (base model, no accessories) will be awarded to the participant judged to have submitted the best video entry during the Campaign Period.
