How it works

BAT is primarily focused on the Brave browser, an open-source, privacy-centered browser that blocks trackers and malware. It uses blockchain technology to anonymously and securely track user attention, translating into rewards for publishers. User attention, defined as focused mental engagement on digital content, is logged through Brave. User data and tracking information are stored only on the user's device, ensuring privacy and anonymity. The project is led by Brendan Eich, the creator of JavaScript and co-founder of Mozilla, along with other notable team members.
