Unlike traditional blockchain systems, Obyte does not rely on blocks and miners, which allows for a decentralized, disintermediated, and open access to its ledger. This unique structure makes Obyte a pioneer in the realm of DAG-based cryptocurrencies.

Obyte is notable for being the first DAG-based cryptocurrency platform to support decentralized applications (dApps). The absence of miners and blocks eliminates the risk of front-running and other miner manipulations, making dApps on Obyte safer and easier to develop compared to those on blockchain-based platforms. The platform uses Oscript, a new programming language designed to avoid many unsafe programming patterns found in earlier dApp platforms.
How it works
