Notional is the first decentralized protocol on the Ethereum blockchain that facilitates borrowing and lending at fixed rates and terms. Unlike variable rate lending, which only serves a small segment of the crypto lending market, Notional provides the certainty that both lenders and borrowers require. This is achieved by creating a true market that democratizes and empowers individual investors, business owners, and institutional investors.
Main features
Currently, users can borrow or lend USDC and DAI for up to one year, and ETH and WBTC for up to six months from Notional's on-chain liquidity pools. The protocol's V2 upgrade introduces a low-touch experience for liquidity providers, eliminating the need to manually roll debts to new maturities. This is accomplished through nTokens, which are ERC20 tokens representing a user's share of the liquidity pool.
How it works
Notional's protocol was relaunched on November 1st, following a $10 million Series A funding round in May 2021, which included investments from top VC firms like Coinbase Ventures. The relaunch introduced a host of new features, including the NOTE governance token, enhancing the protocol's functionality and user experience.
