The Sirius Chain protocol aims to provide DApp developers with cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, multilayer, P2P cloud services. These services include blockchain-powered P2P storage and bandwidth. A fault-tolerant system ensures that the system remains fully functional even when part of it is down or unavailable. Sirius Chain builds a P2P cloud storage architecture with fault tolerance and a distributed database by removing the central entity and connecting all the servers (or nodes) in a mesh configuration. The failure of any single component of the mesh has minimal effect on the overall performance of the system.

How it works

Sirius Chain's distributed file management system (DFMS) interfaces with the NEM blockchain and operates in four scenarios: Public DFMS with NEM Public chain, Private DFMS with NEM Public Chain, Public DFMS with NEM Private Chain, and Private DFMS with NEM Private Chain. Sirius Chain provides DApp developers with an easy-to-use SDK that abstracts the Sirius Chain protocol layer into a dynamic second layer on top of the NEM blockchain layer. This allows developers to build P2P applications with optimal security protocols without relying on central authority points. The solution uses the NEM blockchain for value and hash transactions and the NEM cryptography framework to access the Sirius Chain DFMS, working in a tightly integrated environment based on the aforementioned scenarios.
