How do I reset my wallet to factory settings?

Resetting your wallet completely erases the current private and public keys.

Important! Before resetting to factory settings, you must transfer all your coins and tokens to another crypto wallet. Failure to do so will result in the permanent loss of all your crypto assets, and you will not be able to retrieve them.

Remember to keep track of the access code for all your devices. We've seen cases where users reset all their Tangem devices except one, which then becomes useless because they forgot the access code for that last device.

Refer to the process below to reset your Tangem wallet to factory settings:
1. Open the Tangem app and tap the three dots in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Select the wallet you want to reset from the list.
3. Go to Device settings.
4. Tap Scan and scan the device you want to reset on the screen that appears.
5. Enter your access code/biometric ID, tap Continue, and scan the Tangem Wallet.
6. On the Device settings page, tap Reset to Factory Settings.
7. Confirm that you understand the consequences of resetting the device to factory settings, and tap Reset.
8. Enter your access code and scan the device to confirm the reset.

After these steps, the device will be reset to factory settings. If more than one device has been linked to the wallet, the app will prompt you to reset the remaining device to factory settings. Select Continue if you want to reset the wallet completely by performing a reset for the second and third devices. Once all the devices are reset, you can use them to create a new wallet.

What happens to the balance on the wallet if I reset it to factory settings?

Resetting the wallet to factory settings will completely wipe it clean by deleting all keys. After this process, access to the current wallet on the selected device will be impossible. Therefore, it's important to withdraw your cryptocurrency from your wallet before resetting any devices; otherwise, you will lose it.
